I was the worst in all my dance classes growing up, and because of this didn’t realise how much I loved dancing until I discovered Modern Jive as a teenager. Even then I found it challenging to learn and took a really long time to get good at it. Fortunately my passion for dance and some encouraging fellow dancers kept me at it.
I began to frequently pull ‘I’m making fun of myself’ faces when adding style to my moves because I believed the way I wanted to dance would appear silly, so at least then I could then pretend I was simply having a laugh. It was a while later that I started receiving genuine compliments about my abilities and realised that going all out with styling and dancing from the heart is what people really connect with. Something frequently mentioned by compliment-givers was their desire to “be as brave”, “possess the skills”, “be able to” as I do, which really just highlights how scared most of us are to try.
That’s when it became apparent to me, that we all have the skills and creative talent to thrive, most of us just hold back due to fear. As we all know when considering others, they absolutely can achieve what they want - and so I endeavour to help clients with this; overcoming their self-limiting beliefs and stepping into their most confident selves.

"I absolutely love your classes and come out 'all zinged up', as Michelle says. I like how you've been moving around a bit at the front of the class recently so everyone knows you're interested in what they're doing – that's great.”
